Unlike cotton-filled futons, Otis uses highly resilient high-density foam (1.8 lb per cubic foot or better). Lower-density foams used in other mattresses can reduce lifespan and performance.

Standard futon covers are designed for 6" mattresses. The Luxury's true 8" mattress requires a true 8" box-corner cover. Using an undersized cover will alter comfort and make folding more difficult.
