Futon Cover FAQ's, ETA's, Returns, Policies, Sizes, and Measuring

Returns are time consuming and expensive. You can avoid returns by ordering fabric samples and reading the following detailed information to ensure your futon cover will fit perfectly. Just two simple steps — order swatches and measure your mattress — will help ensure your satisfaction and eliminate the need for returns.

Our Return Policy

We accept returns for refunds or exchanges on most Full Size Covers with a standard 6" depth, provided they are not custom or non-returnable, and they can be sold as brand new.

Returns must be free of soil, hair, odors, or signs of use. If the item is not resalable, we will attempt to clean it and donate it. If the error was ours or the manufacturer's, we’ll correct it at no charge.

Shipping, handling, and restocking fees apply — typically under 20% of the item’s price.

Returns on Custom Sizes & Special Items

Custom covers (depths, pillows, duvets, yardage, etc.) are returnable but not for immediate refund. We’ll relist the item for resale, and issue credit when it sells. We offer replacement covers at wholesale cost to offset loss. Extra shipping and credit card fees may apply.

How to Clean Most Futon Covers

The best way to protect any futon mattress is to buy a futon cover. There are many beautiful covers available, so picking the right style can be a hard decision. The most common sized futon cover is Full Size, measuring 54” X 75”. Most futon mattresses are 6” to 8” thick, and most covers will fit within this range. Queen covers (60” X 80”) are less common, and often returned. Measure your mattress to be sure.

Consider whether to buy a Washable cover, a Dry Clean Only cover, or a Spot Clean Only cover. Washable covers are best for children or pets. Follow the manufacturer’s tag instructions. Generally, hand wash or machine wash on gentle with cold water and mild detergent. Line dry or tumble dry on cool.

Avoid washing in warm or hot water and do not dry on high heat — this can cause shrinkage. If you’ve lost the tag, contact the dealer or manufacturer for cleaning instructions.

Dry Clean Only covers can be expensive, and some people are sensitive to chemicals. Spot Clean covers can be cleaned with a mild detergent and towel.

Vinyl or leather-look covers are easy to wipe clean and ideal for pets or children, but can be hot or sticky to sit on.

Sunbrella covers are fade and water resistant. Clean by brushing off dirt, wiping with mild detergent, or even using bleach. Guaranteed to resist fading for 5 years in direct sun.

For those willing to experiment: some Dry Clean Only or Spot Clean covers can be gently hand washed in slightly warm water, rinsed multiple times, stretched flat on towels, and left to dry. This works most of the time, but there is a risk of shrinkage.
