Since many futons are so plush and plump these days, customers who are not used to this in a futon may have an initial troubles bending their futon or getting it to stay in place. These strips are designed so that the bottom of the strip adheres to the slats of the frame (so it doesn't move), and the top of the strip (made of foam) holds the futon by the resistance or friction created between the foam on the strip and the futon's fabric as they touch.
These are better than the typical rolls of grippers shown below for several reasons. 1 They don't look ugly from the back side of the frame. 2 They don't collect dust and dirt from the back of the frame. 3 If the rolls get damaged you have to replace the entire piece, and our strips can be replaced individually. Important: To use the strips, roll the foam part of each strip in a corner. The adhesive will kind of stick to your finger, and then you will be able to peel off the paper backing. Placement of your Grip Strips In order to receive the maximum benefit of the Grip Strips, we recommend: You purchase one complete set of 24 Grip strips. Each Strip is approximately 1 3/4" wide, and 6" long. 12 for the seat deck and 12 for the back deck. If your frame has more slats, skip one or two, and if it has less, save the extras for later use. On the seat deck, place one strip on each slat towards the front edge on the top of the frame's slats about 6" Down. On the back deck, place one strip on each slat towards the top of the edge of the frame's slats about 6" Down.
