It does utilize an outer flame retardant layer. It also contains 2 Layers of 2" Foam and is compressed down several inches for firmness and is double tufted which also adds extra cotton for extra firmness. The Cotton used is very pure and clean. It is virtually Organic but we can't call it that because it is not certified Organic. Chemical Free Futons sell for between $400 and $1400 depending on how they are made. This mattress is made with 4", 6", 8", 10", or more of cotton batting depending on the model chosen. It is then compressed during manufacturing and vacuum packaged for shipping. Once compressed fully, the mattress may measure half it's original size. The outer shell is made with a natural colored Cotton/Poly material. We can custom make this mattress in almost any size or shape that you want. This mattress has a 5 year warranty against defects in zippers, seams, and tufts, and excludes misuse, or abuse. Stains of any kind void the warranty. You do need to rotate the mattress on a monthly basis to keep it even and level. For any warranty issues the customer is responsible for all shipping charges.
