The USF-3 is made with 8" of ingredients including 2 - 2" layers of foam and 4 layers of blended Cotton. Due to packaging for shipping this mattress may arrive, or will compress down to between 4" and 5" with use. This is not considered a defect. You should flip and rotate this futon mattress monthly to compress it as evenly as possible.
